"CII is happy to note that the state budget proposals have laid considerable emphasis on strengthening infrastructure, building new industries and generating jobs across sectors," the chamber said in a statement.
"It is heartening that 158 road projects of 2,188 km and 13 bridge projects in 11 backward districts are under implementation," said Mr Sudhir Deoras, chairman, CII Eastern Region.
The Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC) said that the West Bengal State Budget 2014-15 presented by finance minister Amit Mitra would promote inclusive growth in the state through its strong focus on agriculture, rural development, infrastructure, education and social sector.
