The place would be developed on the pattern of Vaishno Devi and Amar Nath shrines to attract tourists visiting the 'Shakti Peeth' of Kangra district, he said at a meeting of officers of the district.
Dhumal, who undertook an aerial survey of Aadi Himani Chamunda Dham, said the temple was an ancient shrine and a beautiful spot situated in the Dhauladhar hill ranges.
"It has vast potential for development from tourism point of view and possibilities are being explored to connect the place with ropeway and a survey is being conducted," he said.
He said efforts would be made to launch heli-taxi service to Himani Chamunda and basic amenities like drinking water, electricity and accommodation facilities would be provided to tourists.
He said the state had a vast potential for adventure tourism like para-gliding, sky-driving, river-rafting and mountaineering, besides relgious tourism.
The Chief Minister said Rs 15 crore was being spent on tourism activities in Kangra district with assistance from Asian Development Bank which included resurrection of Masrur Temple at a cost of Rs 3.5 crore.
He said Rs 5.47 crore was being spent on various activities in Maharana Pratap Sagar including Rs 1.27 crore on construction of Information Centre in Pong Dam, Rs 3 crore on community tourism development and Rs 75 lakh on parking and other facilities.
