Chana prices dropped by 0.86 per cent to Rs 4,385 per quintal in futures trade Thursday after traders reduced their positions amid fall in demand at the spot market.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, chana for delivery in February was trading lower by Rs 38, or 0.86 per cent, to Rs 4,385 per quintal with an open interest of 150 lots.
Likewise, the commodity for delivery in March shed Rs 30, or 0.67 per cent, to Rs 4,423 per quintal in 3,410 lots.
Marketmen said, off-loading of bets by traders due to fall in demand in the physical market against adequate stocks position mainly pulled down chana prices at futures trade.
