Chana prices tumbled 1.78 per cent to Rs 4,689 per quintal in futures trade today on profit-booking by speculators at prevailing higher levels amid fall in demand in the spot market.
In futures trading at the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange, chana for delivery in June plunged by Rs 85, or 1.78 per cent, to Rs 4,689 per quintal with an open interest of 92,410 lots.
Similarly, the commodity for delivery in July contracts traded lower by Rs 66, or 1.35 per cent, to Rs 4,819 per quintal in 1,40,370 lots.
Anlysts said fall in demand in the spot markets mainly pulled down chana prices in futures trade.
