Chana prices fell 2.70% to Rs 2,810 per quintal in futures trade today as speculators reduced exposures amidst increased supplies from producing regions in the spot market.
At the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange, chana for delivery in August dropped by Rs 78, or 2.70% to Rs 2,810 per quintal with an open interest of 1,56,130 lots.
Similarly, the commodity for delivery in September traded lower by Rs 78, or 2.62% to Rs 2,897 per quintal in 43,430 lots.
Marketmen attributed the fall in chana futures to increased arrivals from producing regions in the physical market against subdued demand.
