At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, chana for delivery in September went up by Rs 12, or 0.24 per cent, to Rs 4,945 per quintal with an open interest of 15,230 lots.
Similarly, the commodity for delivery in October edged up by Rs 3, or 0.06 per cent, to Rs 4,905 per quintal in 8,830 lots.
Analysts said expanding of positions by participants on the back of firm demand in the spot market, mainly kept chana prices higher at futures trade.
