Chana futures traded lower by 0.51 per cent to Rs 4,867 per quintal today as speculators booked profits at prevailing levels amid subdued demand in the spot market.
At the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange, chana for delivery in October fell Rs 25, or 0.51 per cent to Rs 4,867 per quintal with an open interest of 1,05,200 lots.
Likewise, the commodity for delivery in September contracts eased Rs 20, or 0.41 per cent to Rs 4,802 per quintal in 1,00770 lots.
Traders said besides profit-booking by speculators at existing levels, easing demand at the spot market mainly pulled down chana prices in futures trade.
