Supported by rising demand at the domestic spot market, chana prices rose further by 0.65% to Rs 4,323 per quintal in futures trading today as participants enlarged their positions.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, chana for delivery in April were up by Rs 28, or 0.65%, to Rs 4,323 per quintal with an open interest of 26,560 lots.
Likewise, the commodity for delivery in far-month May traded higher by Rs 28, or 0.64%, to Rs 4,380 per quintal in 5,900 lots.
Analysts attributed persistent rise in chana prices at futures trade to fresh positions built up by participants amid rising demand in the spot market against restricted supplies from producing regions.
