Chana prices were higher by 0.26% to Rs 3,115 per quintal in futures trade today as traders created fresh positions after demand picked up in the spot market, driven by ongoing wedding season.
Further, expectations of lower output also influenced chana prices.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, chana for delivery in December month rose by Rs 8, or 0.26% to Rs 3,115 per quintal with an open interest of 80,720 lots.
Analysts said besides pick up in demand in the spot market triggered by ongoing wedding season, restricted arrivals from producing belts mainly led to the rise in chana prices at futures trade.
Further, expectations of lower output also influenced chana prices.
