At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, chana for delivery in January month moved up by Rs 24, or 0.70 per cent to Rs 3,460 per quintal with an open interest of 7,550 lots.
Also, the commodity for delivery in February contracts gained Rs 12, or 0.35 per cent to Rs 3,422 per quintal in 1,04,640 lots.
Analysts said apart from pick up in demand in the spot market, tight stocks position on restricted supplies from producing belts led to the rise in chana prices at futures trade.
