Chana prices edged higher by 0.22% to Rs 2,761 per quintal in futures trade today as speculators enlarged positions supported by rising demand in the spot market.
However, expectations of higher output due to heavy rainfall in growing areas, restricted the gains.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, chana for delivery in October rose Rs 6, or 0.22% to Rs 2,761 per quintal with an open interest of 1,04,110 lots.
Analysts said speculators expanded positions, driven by rising demand in the spot market supported by ongoing festive season led to rise in chana prices at futures trade.
