At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, chana for delivery in March rose Rs 20, or 0.53 per cent, to Rs 3,828 per quintal with an open interest of 77,960 lots.
Similarly, the commodity for delivery in January contracts was trading higher by Rs 15, or 0.39 per cent, at Rs 3,859 per quintal in 9,050 lots.
Analysts attributed the rise in prices to fresh positions built up by traders after pick up in demand in the physical market.
