Chana prices drifted lower by 0.45 per cent to Rs 3,779 per quintal in futures trading today as participants reduced exposure, driven by easing demand at the spot market.
Profit-booking at existing levels also weighed on the sentiment.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, chana for delivery in May fell by Rs 17, or 0.45 pr cent to Rs 3,779 per quintal with an open interest of 61,890 lots.
Similarly, the commodity for delivery in April shed Rs 10, or 0.26 per cent to Rs 3,766 per quintal in 40,790 lots.
Analysts attributed the fall in chana futures to offloading of positions by traders following tepid demand in the physical market against sufficient stocks position.
