Chana prices fell 0.50 per cent to Rs 3,807 per quintal in futures trade today as participants cut exposure amid muted demand at the spot market.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, chana for delivery in May fell by Rs 19, or 0.50 per cent, to Rs 3,807 per quintal with an open interest of 71,080 lots.

Similarly, the commodity for delivery in April contracts was trading lower by Rs 16, or 0.42 per cent, to Rs 3,790 per quintal in 34,540 lots.

Analysts said cutting down of positions by traders on the back of tepid demand in the physical market against sufficient stocks position on increased arrivals from growing regions led to the decline in chana futures.
