Chana prices declined by 1.62 per cent to Rs 6,140 per quintal in futures trade today as speculators reduced their exposure amid subdued demand at spot market.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, chana for delivery in October month fell by Rs 101, or 1.62 per cent, to Rs 6,140 per quintal, with an open interest of 33,800 lots.
The commodity for delivery in current month declined by Rs 95, or 1.53 per cent, to Rs 6,100 per quintal in 540 lots.
Marketmen said trimming of positions by traders on the back of easing demand in physical market against adequate stocks position, mainly influenced chana prices at futures trade.
