Chana prices rose by Rs 23 to Rs 2,678 per quintal in futures trade today as speculators enlarged their positions on rising spot market demand.
At the National Commodity Derivatives Exchange, chana for July delivery rose by Rs 23, or 0.87 per cent, to Rs 2,678 per quintal, with an open interest of 64,960 lots.
The August contract gained Rs 23, or 0.83 per cent, to Rs 2,778 per quintal, with an open interest of 1,45,380 lots.
Analysts said increased buying by speculators on good demand in the spot market mainly led to a rise in chana futures prices.
