Chana prices fell 0.91% to Rs 4,963 per quintal in futures trade today as speculators booked profits amid increased supplies from major producing states.
In futures trading at the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, chana for December declined by Rs 46, or 0.91%, to Rs 4,963 per quintal, with an open interest of 22,250 lots.
Similarly, chana for delivery in January 2016 was trading lower by Rs 34, or 0.70%, to Rs 4,764 per quintal, with an open interest of 25,920 lots.
Traders said besides profit-booking by speculators, increased supplies and subdued demand in the spot market at existing higher levels, mainly led to the fall in chana prices at the futures trade.
