At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, chana for delivery in July rose by Rs 17, or 0.61 per cent, to Rs 2,792 per quintal with an open interest of 1,390 lots.
In a similar fashion, the commodity for delivery in August gained Rs 12, or 0.42 per cent, to Rs 2,874 per quintal in 1,61,880 lots.
Analysts said fresh positions built-up by speculators supported by rising demand in the spot market, mainly led to the rise in chana prices at futures trade.
