Stating this here today, an official spokesman said the Computer Society of India Special Interest Group on e-Governance through this award recognises initiatives of Chandigarh for key projects like Sampark, gram-sampark, e-kosk, online payment of utility bills, campus wide area network, online college admission portal, grievance redressal system and e-stamping.
The e-governance initiatives also include project based on mobile technology like m-sampark and SMS service, registration and licensing authority mobile app and green computing and e-waste management, he said in a release.
The CSI-Nihilent e-Governance Awards were instituted way back in 2002 with the objective of providing a channel for e-governance champions of the country to share their knowledge with interested stakeholders in the country and abroad.
Prince Dhawan, Director of Information Technology, Chandigarh said, "The CSI applauded the uniqueness of the e-governance initiatives in UT Chandigarh where all apps and applications are developed in-house by the Society for Promotion of IT, Chandigarh."
Computer Society of India (CSI), jointly with Nihilent Technologies, has been recognising special initiatives and success stories in the domain of e-governance.
