Punjab and Haryana are host states for organising the 11th edition of the fair, while Ministry of Agriculture along with Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Government of India are the partner ministries.
"Through CII Agro Tech, we aim to showcase the latest technological innovations geared to take Indian agriculture to the next level. It will also focus on policy issues by bringing all key stakeholders - governments, institutes, scientists, farmers and the industry onto a single platform, Chairman, CII Agro Tech-2014, Pawan Goenka told reporters.
The annual agri fair is expected to play a critical role in revolutionising the Indian agri sector in all aspects. Much in sync with the Modi Government's thrust on improving agriculture productivity and increasing agriculture's falling share in India's GDP, the fair would bridge the gap between the farming community and other stakeholders, Goenka said.
Participants from 11 countries, including Germany, Canada, Italy, Israel, South Africa, France, Netherlands, Spain, Russia, Ivory Coast, Poland etc will showcase their latest technologies, CII Northern Region Chairman Zubin Irani said.
In the past, as many as 36 international exhibitors and 108 domestic exhibitors have taken part in the agri fair.
This year's theme developed around idea 'Building Global Competitiveness in agriculture' and the fair will host eight concurrent shows including farm tech show, food expo, food tech, good earth, implementex, water and irrigation management, livestock expo.
