Amid much fanfare and chaos, the first Delhi edition of India Bridal Fashion Week (IBFW) kick started here with designers JJ Valaya and Shantanu-Nikhil showcasing their high end couture collection.
Valaya's show titled 'The Maharaja Of Madrid', which was scheduled to start at 8 pm last evening, was running two hours late leaving the guests and media agitated.
The high audience turnout left many standing to watch Valaya's opening show, which was inspired by Indo-Spanish culture.
"We have an invite for the show which clearly suggests row number and seat but we still had to stand and watch it. After waiting for two hours and standing for an hour, I am highly disappointed," said an angry guest.
As the seating began for the event, it was designer's VVIP guests including his showstoppers Kabir Bedi and Kangna Ranaut who entered the show area first, leaving many invitees and media stranded outside for about an hour more.
The event also witnessed an argument between the organisers and media for not reserving seats for them to watch the show.
"They say two rows had been reserved for media but when they allowed me to enter, there were already guests sitting there. The organisers asked us to stand and watch the show. It was mismanaged," said a journalist.
When approached, the organisers they said they are following instructions and cannot do much about it.
