Chargesheet filed against youth for killing sex worker

Delhi police has filed a charge sheet in a court here against a rickshaw puller accusing him of killing an alleged sex worker in February as she was an obstacle in his relationship with another woman who was also into prostitution.
The police submitted its charge sheet before Metropolitan Magistrate Saumya Chouhan, who took cognizance of the final report and committed the case to sessions court for trial.
The charge sheet was filed against 25-year-old Munshi Yadav, a resident of Bihar, which stated that the accused had shot dead Pooja Shabnam after a verbal spat on February 24.
The accused was apprehended by the passers-by at the spot when he was trying to flee and was handed over to police.
"Accused Munshi Yadav has killed Pooja in premeditated manner with the motive to take revenge of his humiliation and to remove hurdle from his way," the police said in its charge sheet.
It stated that while Pooja, alongwith three-four women were having tea at a stall near Sarai Kale Khan close to the busy Inter State Bus Terminal (ISBT), the accused came there and shot Pooja after a verbal spat.

"Munshi knew Pooja, who was running prostitution racket with Kiran, Fiza, Reena, Meena, Babli and Matakalli etc. At ISBT Sarai Kale Khan, Anand Vihar and other busy areas.
"For the last eight/nine months, Munshi was in contact with Kiran (alleged sex worker)," the charge sheet said.
The police also said that Munshi and Kiran were living in a flat here as husband and wife.
"The accused wanted to take Kiran to his native village. But Pooja did not allow as it will adversely effect her business. Kiran could not leave without the consent of Pooja.
"There were quarrel between Pooja and accused. Munshi was also beaten up by Pooja. Therefore, he planned to kill Pooja as she was an obstruction in his love life," the police said in its charge sheet.
Police also said that seven bullets have been recovered from the accused and they have also seized a country made pistol, which he had bought from Bihar.
He has been charge sheeted under section 302 (murder) of the IPC and provisions of the Arms Act.
