Under 'Kaushal Gurukul Yojna', skill development centres will be set up across naxal-hit areas where alumni from various IITs will be employed to impart skill development training to youths.

The scheme was launched by Chief Minister Raman Singh at Indavani in Rajnandgaon district yesterday, a government official said today.

To implement the plan, the Chhattisgarh State Skill Development Mission (CSDM) has inked a MoU with PanIIT, an organisation which has representatives from among the alumni of all existing IIT's, the official said.

The agreement was signed among CSDM chief executive Santosh Mishra, Rajnandgaon Collector Ashok Agrawal and T Kalyan Chakravarthy from PanIIT.

As per the agreement, initially the Gurukuls will be established in Ambgadh Chowki and Khairagarh development blocks in Rajnandgaon.
