The meeting came after local Congress workers and functionaries complained against the ministers to party general secretary Rahul Gandhi during his recent visit.

AICC secretary in-charge of Maharashtra, Mohan Prakash, and state unit president Manikrao Thakre were also present.

Party sources said that issue of local bodies elections, where Congress fared badly in home districts of the most of its ministers, came up. "There is a general perception among workers that ministers from Congress have failed to match the performance and impact of NCP counterparts. During the recent visit of Rahul Gandhi, workers had complained that ministers do not pay attention to party organisation and workers," a source said.

Today's meeting was an "accountability assessment exercise. There is a lot of pressure from MLAs for a cabinet reshuffle," the source added.

There are three vacancies -- two cabinet and one minister of state -- from the Congress quota in the state council of ministers.
