Nagaland Minister for School
Education Yitachu today emphasized the need for cheap education so that the entire society can have access to it.
"We need to give quality education at cheaper rates as expensive quality education will be beyond the reach of many people and a society cannot prosper under such a circumstance," Yitachu said while addressing a programme on the 75th anniversary of the first government high school here.
The school was established in 1941 and is presently known as Ruzhukhrie Government Higher Secondary School.
"We have enough schools and teachers while infrastructure are also sufficient through mission projects like Sarva Siksha Abhiyan, Rashtriya Madhyamik Siksha Abhiyan and other central agencies, but we are lacking in quality education," he said.
"If we want the whole society to progress, then the education that we give should be cheap and free world class quality education has to be given," he said.
He said the Swachh Bharat Mission can be achieved only after people are imparted with quality education. "A clean surrounding and environment keeps our minds, thoughts, attitudes and relationships clean and that can come about only when proper quality education is being given to all our citizens.
