According to a complaint filed by the victim Madan Pal, the BSP general secretary Dharamveer Singh Ashok took an amount of Rs 2.5 lakh from him about six months ago for providing him a job, SSP Gulab Singh said.

Sheeshpal, an official in Health Department in Delhi, who was also present in the same meeting, had assured Pal of offering a job within a month from then, Singh said.

After no response from the duo for six months, the victim said that on asking back his money thereafter, he was being threatened by them.

Meanwhile, the party's district officials declined to comment on the matter.

Further probes are on into the case, the SSP added.
