"The blaze started at around 5:40 PM in the warehouse of Deccan Chemicals. The incident created panic among the residents of surrounding localities as the entire area was engulfed by thick black plumes," said D Chandrasekhara Varma, Joint Chief Inspector of Factories.
Electrical short circuit is suspected to be the cause behind the mishap.
