The medical examination of a 'chemical' thrown at a seven-year-old boy by a shopkeeper in the Gandhi Nagar area of Shahdara has revealed that it was hot water.
A samosa shop owner had reportedly thrown a 'chemical' on a boy who was playing outside his shop on Tuesday.
The boy was apparently shouting and the accused threw the chemical at him causing burn injuries, they said.
He managed to flee and is undergoing treatment, police said.
Initially, it was suspected that it was acid since there was foam coming out of it but a medical examination later revealed that the 'chemical' was hot water, they said.
The accused has been arrested, police said.
