Chennai Devotee offers Rs 1 cr to TTD Vedic Trust
Press Trust of India Tirupati : A devotee of Lord Venkateswara made an offering of Rs one crore at the hill temple at Tirumala here today, with a request to the temple management to use the money for TTD Vedic Trust, meant for enlightening the public on 'Sanatana -Dharma'.
The devotee, hailing from Chennai, who did not wish to reveal his identity, handed over the offering in the form of a Bank Demand Draft to the hill temple Joint Executive Officer K S Srinivasa Raju, temple PRO Talari Ravi told PTI.
TTD Vedic Trust, called the TTD Veda Parirakshana Trust, was floated by the temple management about a decade ago to perpetuate the ancient Vedic knowledge, tradition and culture across the world, he said.
Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams, which manages the hill shrine, has been maintaining as many as 11 trusts, including Pilgrim Free Meal Trust, Destitute and Orphan Trust and Free Medical Facilities Trust for Poor, the PRO added.
