Chennai factory to come up by 2018: KONE Elevator

KONE Elevator India today said its factory in Sriperumbudur is expected to begin operations by 2018.
"In couple of years, by 2018, we are going to inaugurate our factory in Chennai..", KONE Corporation President and CEO Henrik Ehrnrooth told reporters here.
Declining to reveal the investments made at the factory, he said the company is registering "double digit" growth in India and is also exporting some of its products to neighbouring countries.
"We have been very profitable over the last five years (in India)", he said.
KONE Elevator India Managing Director Amit Gossain the company would shift operations from its existing facility at Ambattur to Sriperumbudur near Chennai.

"We are shifting from eight acre land (in Ambattur) to 18 acres in Sriperumbudur facility," he said.
Ehrnrooth said the company follows a five point strategy -- focus on customers, making KONE a great place to work for employees, register growth more than the industry, garnering profitable growth and be a sustainable leader.
KONE Corporation employs about 50,000 people, including 4,000 in India, and has 1,500 offices worldwide.
