The Guindy Golf Course, the venue for the event, is under water, including the elevated greens at the moment and the forecast is for very heavy rain over the next couple of days, said a press release from Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI).
The course authorities need at least five-six clear days to get the golf course into playing condition and they do not visualise this happening in the coming week, it said.
Fresh dates for the tournament would be made known at the earliest, the release added.
