Congress led UDF Opposition in Kerala today condemned the alleged attack on RMP workers by ruling CPI-M activists in Kozhikode district.
Leader of Opposition in the Assembly Ramesh Chennithala alleged that the attack took place in the presence of police.
"CPI-M cadres are creating an atmosphere of terror in Onchiyam and Orkkatteri area," Chennithala said.
He also claimed that the police have arrested RMP workers including its leader N Venu and were detained in the police station.
Meanwhile, the secretariat of the Revolutionary Marxist party (RMP), a party formed by the late T P Chandrasekharan after he left CPI-M in 2009, blamed the ruling CPI-M for the attack and sought the intervention of all democratic-minded people in the society in the matter.
Chandrasekharan was hacked to death by some assailants, allegedly with CPI (M) support, on 4 May 2012.

After Chandrasekharan's death, his widow K K Rema took charge of the party.
In a statement, Rema said the CPI-M had "unleashed violence" against RMP cadres in the area for the past few days.
She also alleged that the attacks against the party offices and houses of RMP cadres was continuing in the area during night time.
"The CPI-M is creating a situation of fear that existed when T P Chandrasekharan was killed," she added.
