"The UPA government has no control over inflation and is riddled with scams. I don't understand on which issues Congress candidates in Gujarat are contesting election," the BJP leader said.
Singh was addressing an election rally in support of BJP at Raiya Road here. Gujarat will vote on December 13 and 17 and results will be announced on December 20.
The Congress-led ruling coalition at the Centre is in "ICU" and once the Gujarat Assembly poll result is announced the countdown for general election will begin, he said.
Congress has lost the right to seek votes from the people as its government is mired in corruption and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has been maintaining silence over the issue, the Chief Minister alleged.
Singh praised the Narendra Modi government for its focus on development of Gujarat and said BJP will bag more assembly seats this time as compared to last election.
BJP had won 117 out of 182 seats in the 2007 Gujarat assembly poll.
