Chief Minister Raman Singh has written a letter to Krishna seeking his intervention for the safe release of Pritam Sahu, a native of Rajnandgaon district who is in captivity since early March, official sources said today.
The CM has attached, with the letter, an application submitted by Pritam's father Lokdas Sahu.
Pritam's father and mother Kalyani had met Singh at his residence here on June 13.
According to Lokdas Sahu, his son had joined Shipping Corporation of India for engineering cadet training.
He was deputed on a merchant vessel `Royal Grace', which was on its way to Nigeria from Dubai on March 1, when the ship was seized by pirates near Somalia. Besides Pritam, 16 other Indians were also on board the vessel.
