The decision in this regard was taken during a meeting of an inter-departmental committee chaired by state Revenue Minister Premprakash Pandey here yesterday, a Public Relations Officer (PRO) said today.
It will expedite setting up of the East-West rail corridor and East corridor, he said.
The 122 km long East-West Rail Corridor will be built on the Gevra Road-Deepika-Katghora-Sindurgarh-Pasan-Pendra Road section. The Railway Ministry had submitted a proposal to the state government for allotment of land for this project.
For the East Corridor, the government has decided to sanction 14 acres in Raigarh district. The Corridor will be about 180 km long from Bhupdevpur-Gharghoda-Dharamjaygarh up to Korba, the official said.
The panel also sanctioned 20 acres of land for the under-construction rail route from Tilaipali to Lara village where a plant of National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) is coming up, the PRO said, adding coal mines in Tilaipali village were allocated to NTPC for the project.
