"The Centre has given in-principle consent to set up one-stop centres in each of the 27 districts," a government official said today.
Chhattisgarh Women and Child Development Minister Ramsheela Sahu today met Union Women and Child Development Minister Maneka Gandhi in New Delhi and sought Centre's nod in this regard.
"The Union minister gave an in-principle consent to the proposal," the official said.
At present only the capital city, Raipur, has such a help centre for women.
The help centre provides medical aid to the victims of rape, dowry harassment and domestic violence, besides helping them file FIRs, giving legal advice and psychological counselling.
Sahu also requested the Centre to include Balod, Janjgir-Champa, Jashpur, Kawardha and Narayanpur districts of Chhattisgarh under the 'Beti-Bachao, Beti-Padhao Yojana'.
