Agriculture Minister Brijmohan Agrawal while chairing a meeting of senior officials of agriculture and water resource departments late last evening, took stock of kharif crops, rainfall statistics, water level in dams and related issues, a government official here said today.
Chhattisgarh has recorded an average of 717.3 mm of rainfall till date. Sukma district has received highest of 1110.6 mm rainfall, while Balod recorded lowest of 449.5 mm.
In the meeting, Agrawal decided that those areas which have received 50 per cent less than the average rainfall would be supplied water for kharif crops through dams after consultation with district and divisional water utilisation committees concerned.
Balod, Durg, Rajnandgaon, Gariyaband, Dhamtari, Korea districts in the state have received scanty rains.
