Facing shortage of middle level personnel, Chhattisgarh government today sought from the Centre officers of Central Secretariat Service (CSS) which forms the backbone of central government administration.
Chhattisgarh, which is also facing Naxalism, has invited applications for filling up the posts of Under Secretary, Deputy Secretary or Director by transfer-on-deputation basis.
"The officers who are have not crossed the age of 56 years and are willing go to go on deputation to Government of Chhattisgarh, may submit the application," said an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training.
CSS is one of the earliest organised services in the country and is an important constituent of the central government machinery. Officers of the service provide a strong and permanent set-up of middle level functionaries of the Government of India.
They have been contributing in policy formulation, its execution and review. There are about 2,200 'Group A' officers working at the level of Joint Secretary, Director, Deputy Secretary and Under Secretary.
