Chikka with two birdies and four bogeys was one-under 143 for two rounds.
But the best Indian performance on second day came from Manav Das, who played a two-under 70 with three birdies and an eagle on the 15th hole, to be in tied 43rd. He also had a double bogey and a bogey.
Other Indians in the field were Khalin Joshi (74-71) in tied 25th, Honey Baisoya (76-72) in tied 33rd, Angad Cheema (77-72) and Udayan Mane (75-75) in tied 47th place.
The total field is 120 players.
China's 14-year-old Tianglang Guan (64) moved way ahead at 14-under and five shots clear of his nearest rival Thai Prin Simmisomai (65) and Australian Oliver Gross (65), who are both at nine-under 135.
Thailand's Natipong Srithong (69-69) is fourth at six-under 138, while Korean So Min Lee (69-70) and Australian Nathan Holman (75-64) are tied fifth at five-under 139.
