Four members of the family were injured when the vehicle bumped into their shelter on the pavement in Khidderpore area in the southern part of the city in the wee hours, police said.
All the four injured were taken to a nearby hospital where the child succumbed. Of the remaining three, one was discharged while others were under treatment, they said.
The vehicle was seized.
