Child injured in toilet complex collapse; NDMC orders probe

A child was injured when an abandoned community toilet complex collapsed in Jehangirpuri area following which the North Delhi Municipal Corporation today ordered an enquiry into the case.
The incident took place yesterday and the child was rescued the same evening, the NDMC said, adding that till 5.30 AM this morning, the entire debris was removed and the site has been cleared.
Municipal Commissioner Praveen Gupta has ordered an enquiry into the collapse and also asked that Deputy Commissioner of Civil Lines Zone should conduct an enquiry into the matter and send a factual status report to him within two days, the civic body said in a statement.

He further directed that the report should clearly mention whether there was any lapse on part of any municipal employee, which led to the collapse.
