"We often tell our children that they are the future of the country, let us tell them that they are our present and we should nurture them that away," Mirza said at the 'adolescent and young people meet' here.
"It is their present contribution, which should be valued," she said while speaking at the gathering that was organised last evening to commemorate 70th anniversary of Unicef.
"There is no point of my stardom or celebrity status if it cannot be used for the good of children. It is a blessing for me that I am associated with Unicef. There is a lot of work that is yet to be done and I am sure we would collectively do it for the children," she added.
