Children enter world of letters on Vijayadasami

Several children were initiated into the world of letters, on the occasion of Vijayadasami here today.
The department of Women and Child Development held a special 'Vidyarambam' programme to introduce the tiny tots to the world of knowledge.
The Child Development Programme In-Charge, J Vijayalakshmi said, more than 30 children took part along with their parents, who held their fingers and made them write the first letter, with the help of golden rings.
Various temples in and around Puducherry witnessed heavy rush.
