Children's film festival from Nov 22

Around 250 films from 40 countries would be screened at the 10th Children's India International Film Festival (CIIFF) to be held here from November 22 to 26.
This is for the first time that Mangaluru is hosting the festival. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah would inaugurate the festival at the Panambur beach here, Dakshina Kannada district-in-charge Minister B Ramanath Rai said at a press meet here today.
The festival is being organised in association with the Karnataka Film Academy with the support of the district administration. The films would be screened in 12 theatres in the city and five theatres in other taluks in the district.
Festival director N R Nanjunde Gowda said 30 international delegates would take part in the festival. Besides feature films, wildlife films, short movies, environmental and animated films would be part of the package to be shown at the festival.
Movies that fetched awards from the International Centre of Films for Children and Young People would also be screened, he said. Workshops relating to film production would be held by experts during the festival.
Deputy Commissioner A B Ibrahim, who was also present, said a total of 1, 20,000 children were expected to watch the films in four days. The show timings would be between 9 am and 3.30 pm, he said.
