Chilli, jeera falls on subdued demand

Red chilli and jeera prices fell by Rs 100 per quintal in the national capital today due to subdued demand from retailers and stockists at higher levels amid sufficient stocks position.
Red chilli prices eased by Rs 100 to finish at Rs 8,400-15,400 per quintal.
Jeera common and jeera best quality also declined by Rs 100 each to conclude at Rs 13,100-13,400 and Rs 16,400-16,700 per quintal.
Marketmen said subdued demand from retailers and stockists at higher levels against sufficient stocks, mainly pulled down chilli and jeera prices.
Following are today's quotations (in Rs):
Ajwain (per kg) 140-180, black pepper (per kg) 670-870, betel-nut (kg) 300-350, cardamom brown-Jhundiwali (kg) 1,410-1,420 and cardamom brown-Kanchicut (kg) 1,470-1,850.
