Chilli and jeera prices rose up to Rs 200 per quintal in the national capital today largely on the back of increased buying by retailers and stockists amid fall in supplies from producing belts.
Besides, a firming trend at futures market supported the uptrend.
Chilli prices were up by Rs 100 to settle at Rs 8,600-15,100 per quintal.
Jeera common and jeera best quality also higher by Rs 200 each to conclude at Rs 15,700-16,400 and Rs 19,900-20,400 per quintal, respectively.
Traders said buying support from retailers and stockists against fall in supplies from producing belts, mainly pushed up chilli and jeera prices.
