At the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange, chilli teja for delivery in far-month July dropped by Rs 326, or 3.69 per cent to Rs 8,502 per quintal with an open interest of 80 lots.
Similarly, the spice for delivery in June contracts declined by Rs 86 or 0.98 per cent to Rs 8,704 per quintal in 1,330 lots.
Analysts said offloading of positions by speculators, triggered by subdued demand in the spot market against adequate stocks position mainly pulled down chilli teja prices at the futures trade.
