Chilli, turmeric fall on subdued demand

Red chilli and turmeric prices drifted by Rs 100 per quintal in the national capital today in view of subdued demand from retailers and stockists prevailing at higher levels amidst adequate stocks.
Red chilli and turmeric prices fell by Rs 100 each to conclude at Rs 7,400-12,400 and Rs 9,200-13,800 per quintal, respectively.
Marketmen said subdued demand from retailers and stockists against sufficient stocks, mainly pulled down chilli and turmeric prices.
Following are today's quotations:
Ajwain (per kg) 175-220, black pepper (per kg) 750-950, betel-nut (kg) 280-330, cardamom brown-Jhundiwali (kg) 1,725-1,745 and cardamom brown-Kanchicut (kg) 1,825-1,925.
Cardamom small (kg): Chitridar 820-890, cardamom (colour robin) 760-800, cardamom bold 790-850, cardamom extra (bold) 1,000-1,030 and cloves 800-900.
