Chilli, turmeric prices fall on subdued demand

Red chilli and turmeric prices fell by Rs 100 per quintal in the national capital today owing to subdued demand from retailers and stockists amidst adequate stock.
Red chilli and turmeric prices fell by Rs 100 each to conclude at Rs 8,000-12,000 and Rs 8,000-12,200 per quintal, respectively.
Marketmen said low demand from retailers and stockists against sufficient stocks mainly pulled down chilli and turmeric prices.
Following are today's quotations per quintal: Ajwain 13,500-18,500, black pepper (per kg) 760-960, betel-nut (kg) 180-200, cardamom brown-Jhundiwali (kg) 1,350-1,450 and cardamom brown-Kanchicut (kg) 1,500-1,650.
Cardamom small (kg): Chitridar 700-750, cardamom (colour robin) 680-740, cardamom bold 720-750, cardamom extra (bold) 900-950 and cloves (kg) 920-1,025.
