Red chilli and turmeric prices rose up to Rs 200 per quintal in the national capital today largely on the back of pick up in demand from local parties as well as overseas enquiries.
Red chilli and turmeric prices rose up to Rs 200 to settle at Rs 8,100-14,600 and Rs 6,400-11,900 per quintal, respectively.
Traders said buying support from retailers and stockists against rising export demand mainly pushed up chilli and turmeric prices on the wholesale kirana market here.
The following are today's quotations per quintal:
Ajwain 13,000-18,500, black pepper (per kg) 550-680, betel-nut (kg) 180-200, cardamom brown-Jhundiwali (kg) 1,000-1,100 and cardamom brown-Kanchicut (kg) 1,150-1,300.
Cardamom small (kg): Chitridar 670-770, cardamom (colour robin) 620-720, cardamom bold 670-720, cardamom extra (bold) 820-920 and cloves (kg) 850-900.
